Breakaways are a notable feature of inland Western Australia.

Beagley Breakaway is on the Yilgarn Craton – the dominant geological feature of the south-west of Australia. Over millions of years unrelenting weathering corroded the granite of the Yilgarn Craton. And in the process breakaways were created.

Beagley Breakaway adjoins the Tampu Well Reserve, about 45 kilometres north of Beacon, just off Bimbijy Road. It is on Beagley Farm.

The access road to the breakaways runs west of Bimbijy Road immediately to the south of Tampu Well Reserve. Signage indicates the way to the Beagley Breakaway.

The breakaway extends along the farm for about three kilometres.
