Toolinna Cove

The turn off from Eyre Highway to Toolinna Cove is at 32°23’36.71″S 124°28’28.97″E., 200 metres east of a Parking Bay.

In this country it takes only light rain to make tracks impassable. Toolinna Cove is in the Nuystland Nature Rseerve.

Toolinna Cove was the only suitable break in the Baxter Cliffs where supplies and materials for the 1877 East-West telegraph line could be brought ashore.

It is still the only place today where a boat can be landed between Point Culver and Twilight Cove – a distance of 160 kilometres.

Nearby Toolinna Rockhole is a natural waterhole that has been improved by a government dogger.
